Emergency Food Relief May 7, 2024

The spring rains were significantly delayed this year, which caused the crop planting to be delayed as well. Godwill anticipated a serious food shortage to hit the community earlier than usual. Thank you to the donors who stepped in immediately to provide funding to avoid tragic consequences such as malnutrition, sickness, or death. Unfortunately, one child died before aid could be received.

Uganda Team Visit March 2024

God amazingly brought together this newest team of ladies for a recent Godwill mission trip to Kapchorwa, Uganda. Led by Director Joanne Eytzen, the team included Chris Davis, Debby Farmer, Cindy Turner, and Shari Ellis. Traveling with 850 pounds of humanitarian supplies and 10 carry-on bags, they departed Seattle on March 13, 2024. They arrived in Entebbe, Uganda, 8820 miles and 28 hours later. The team would then continue another 200 miles by van to reach their final destination of Kapchorwa.

Meet Elly and Carol Chelangat, their son Elian and daughter Erin Joy near their home on the King's Royals Junior School campus. Following God's leading in 2019, Elly and Carol left their home and jobs with New Hope Uganda's Children's Center in Central Uganda, to start Father's Kingdom Ministries International and King's Royals Junior School in Elly's home village of Kapchorwa, East Uganda.  There, they have been serving the area residents - mainly peasant farmers, who struggle to eke out a subsistence level of life.  Many families are separated, and children have often been relocated to live with their distant relatives or acquaintances in Kapchorwa. Godwill Ministries embraces Elly and Carol's vision of demonstrating the Father's Love and bringing the Living Hope of Christ to their impoverished community by working to see that -

1. All children receive a quality education. 2. Food and water stability is realized and maintained. 3. Development opportunities lead to economic sustainability. 4. God is glorified in Kapchorwa!

A rudimentary 3-room school began in 2019 for 60 children. Today, an incredible 351 students, ages 3 to 19 are enrolled in 10 different classrooms. Classes range from Baby Class to Primary 7.  A majority of the students rely on partial or full support and would be financially unable to attend school. Godwill Ministries has created a classroom sponsorship program that ultimately benefits every student. Sponsorship funds help provide the books, supplies, uniforms, a mid-morning porridge bowl and simple lunch per child, and a modest salary for the caring, qualified, and dedicated teachers.  Our sponsors are loved by the classroom students and teachers and always welcome your prayers and letters!
